Fix problems building the week
Solve a locked build button, a build that does nothing, too many open slots, or a scheduling engine that is unavailable.
- For owners
If the week does not build the way you expect, check these in order.
Feature locked
- On the phone, the build button shows a lock or opens the plans. Auto-build needs a paid plan or the trial, and the 14-day trial may have ended.
- Choose a plan in the app. See Plans and trial.
- On Free you can still schedule by hand. See Edit the week by hand.
Nothing happens or it fails
- Check your connection and try again.
- If it still fails, wait a minute and press the build button again.
- On the web, if the board says No staffing needs set yet, set the people per shift first. See People per shift.
- If the team is empty, add people first. See Add your team.
The week cannot be built
- A shift you set by hand stays where it is on a rebuild, so it can clash with a rule or another shift and leave a slot open. Change or remove that manual shift, then build again. See Edit the week by hand.
Too many open slots
- The slots may truly be impossible. See Fix open slots for causes and fixes.
- Check that people have positions, enough weekly hours and the right availability.
- Check which rules are on in the Rules tab.
Good to know
- A build can be repeated as often as you like. Repeating does not touch shifts you set by hand.
