Rest and weekly hour defaults for your country
See the rest and weekly hour limits the app starts from, change them, and why you should check your collective agreement.
- For owners
When you choose your country, the app starts from a minimum rest between shifts and a maximum number of hours per week. These are defaults to help you, not legal advice.
Defaults by country
- Italy: 11 hours of rest, 48 hours a week.
- Spain: 12 hours of rest, 40 hours a week.
- France: 11 hours of rest, 48 hours a week.
- Germany: 11 hours of rest, 48 hours a week.
- United Kingdom: 11 hours of rest, 48 hours a week.
- Other countries start at 11 hours of rest and 48 hours a week.
Steps to change them
- On the web, open Settings.
- Under Labour-law defaults, change Minimum rest between shifts (hours) and Maximum hours per week.
- Tap Save.
- Build the week again so the new values are used.
Good to know
- Always check your collective agreement and local rules. Your contract may require more rest or fewer hours than these defaults.
- The app does not promise that a schedule meets the law. You stay responsible for the schedule you publish.
- You can also add or switch rules called Minimum rest and Max hours per week. See Scheduling rules.
- A person's own weekly limit still applies if it is lower. See Weekly limits and availability.
- The values are used when building. When you change a shift by hand, the app warns you if it breaks a rule.
